This is our medium sized black and maple chess board. The board is finished in a good quality maple veneer and is presented without a frame.
The black squares are created by the use of a permanent wood stain, which provides an excellent contrast and gives this board a very functional look.

We say:
This board is ideally matched with a medium sized set of similarly colored chess pieces.
We recommend sets with a king around 3.5 Inches tall.
