This is a nicely proportioned set of chess pieces, in the traditional Staunton style.
The dark pieces are carved from sheesham, with white boxwood pieces.
The chess pieces are single weighted with felted bases, and the knights are carved in a typically German style, with pointed, erect ears and scribed manes.

We say:
A nice set, and great value too! Sheesham wood is less stark than ebonized wood and may be preferable to create a "softer" feel, or to match a lighter wood board.
