This is a finest quality "Meghdoot" style chess set, carved from rare ebony and boxwood.
Meghdoot is derived from Meghaduuta, a lyrical poem written by Kalidasar, considered to be one of the greatest Indian Sanskrit poets.
The knights are exquisitely carved by Indian masters with generations of experience and exhibit astounding attention to detail in the mane, head and jaw.
The set is triple-weighted with raised bases and has a perfect balance and great feel.
All pieces have leather pads on the bottom, and as an added bonus, this set includes Extra Queens!
