This nicely crafted board is constructed in the same way as our 17.25" Frameless black/maple board, with the addition of a narrow black frame, just under an inch wide.
The board is finished in the same top quality black and natural maple veneer.
The black squares are created by the use of a permanent wood stain, which provides an excellent contrast and gives this board a very functional, clean look.

We say:
This board is ideally matched with mid-sized chess pieces of a similar color and with a king having a base around 1.5" and standing up to 4 Inches tall.
