This is a nicely carved rosewood and boxwood chess set.
The chess pieces are double weighted, with felted bases and French style knights (characterized by horizontal noses and ears flat against the head.)
The rosewood pieces have a natural deep red/brown sheen with a dark striped grain and would look great in environments containing other objects made of this wood.
